The North Georgia Touchdown Club welcomes Former Falcon Wide Receiver Michael Jenkins as guest speaker on October 7, 2019 for the October Player of the Week Dinner.Mike Jenkins

Michael Jenkins was born June 18, 1982 in Tampa, Florida. He attended A.P. Leto High School in Tampa, where he was a standout Football player and record-breaking track star. He received many awards for his outstanding athletic performance, stellar academic achievement, and school leadership. In 2008  Jenkins donated football uniforms to his alma mater, (A.P. Leto) telling the St Petersburg Times “You’re always kind of fighting for your school”.

Mike attended The Ohio State University where he was a three-year starter, starting 38 of his final 39 games, he caught 165 passes for 2,898 yards with a 17.6 average, and scored 16 touchdowns in his career. He finished his career with at least one reception in 38 consecutive games and helped the Buckeyes capture the 2002BCS National Championship at the 2003 Fiesta Bowl.

Jenkins earned an All-Big Ten Conference honorable mention as a senior after leading the team with 55 receptions for 834 yards with a 15.2 average and 7 touchdowns while adding 178 yards and a touchdown on 20 punt returns. He was also an All-Big Ten Conference second-team choice as a junior after leading the team with a career-high 61 receptions for 1,076 yards (17.6 average) and 6 touchdowns.

Jenkins was drafted in the first round (29th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons he played in all 16 games of his rookie season, recording seven receptions for 119 yards. His 17.0 average led the team and his eight special teams tackles ranked fourth. He had his first NFL reception for 46 yards against the Denver Broncos.

In his second year he quickly became the favorite target of Falcons quarterback Michael Vick, starting 12 of the 14 games he played.

In his third season he started all 16 games for the first time in his career and

registered 436 receiving yards on a then career-high 39 catches with a career-high seven touchdowns. He led the team with 77 receiving yards on 3 receptions (25.7 average), including a 34-yard touchdown catch in the season opener against the Carolina Panthers.

Jenkins had 53 receptions for 532 yards and four touchdowns in his fourth year with the team. He tallied a season-high 76 receiving yards on six receptions against the Carolina Panthers and posted six catches for 64 yards with a career-high two touchdowns against the Houston Texans. Jenkins reached a career-high nine receptions for a team-high 73 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and tied a career-high with nine grabs for a career-high 83 yards against the New Orleans Saints.

Jenkins set a new career high in receiving yards in 2008 with 777, one of them being the first pass of rookie quarterback Matt Ryan’s NFL career and took it for a 62-yard touchdown against the Detroit Lions.

Jenkins started for the Falcons in 2009. He finished the season with 50 receptions, 635 yards, and a touchdown.

On July 30, 2011, Jenkins signed with the Minnesota Vikings, he had 38 receptions for 466 yards that season.

In his NFL career Jenkins amassed 354 catches, 4,827 yards and 25 TD’s over 10 seasons in the NFL.

Jenkins and his wife, Toya, and their 5 children Chandler, Brendan, Bryce, Chaise, & Mason currently reside in Georgia. Jenkins currently co-owns Crossfit Ecstatic, a workout facility in Cumming, Georgia.

The North Georgia Touchdown Club welcomes Former Falcon Great Roddy White as guest speaker on November 13, 2017 for the November Player of the Week Dinner

Roddy attended James Island High School in Charleston, South Carolina, and was a four-sport letterman and standout in football, baseball, soccer, and wrestling. In football, he was a two-time All-Lowcountry honoree, a two-time All-State honoree, and was also listed as one of the top receivers in the nation. In wrestling, he was a two-time state champion often pinning his opponent in a move that was coined the “Shanaz”.

Roddy attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he was a standout wide receiver for the UAB football team. He caught 163 passes for 3,112 yards and 26 touchdowns in four seasons. In 2004, White helped UAB to their first bowl game in school history.  The 2004 Hawaii Bowl, White caught six passes for 113 yards and a touchdown in the 59-40 loss to the Hawaii Warriors. He finished his senior season with 71 receptions for 1,452 yards and 14 TD’s.

Roddy was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the first-round (27th overall) of the 2005 NFL draft. He spent his entire 11 year NFL career in a Falcons uniform, and will go down in history as one of the franchise’s greatest players.  He was a 4x Pro Bowler (2008-2011) and First Team All-Pro in 2010. He holds almost every Falcon receiving record. He will certainly be added to the team’s Ring of Honor

Roddy still resides here in Georgia with his family, He spends his time coaching the WR at Johns Creek HS and running the Roddy White Keeping the Faith Foundation.
